Digital printing is a crucial process for producing high-quality images in most businesses. In the past, offset printing which used printing plates and presses was popular. However, this option is being phased out and replaced by the digital alternative. This shift can be attributed to the lower costs associated with digital printing. Plan for Your Colour Corrections
If you are preparing to print your corporate images on a digital printer, you should think about colour correction during the initial design stage. In general, the modern printers create the image colours by building on the CMYK colour model. Therefore, you will need to convert your standard RGB files into this colour model before proceeding to print. However, if you switch to CMYK before performing colour corrections, you will have fewer hues to use. Therefore, for the best visual results, it is advisable to carry out the corrections using the RGB colour space. Afterwards, you can convert for printing.
Minimise Solid Colour Sections
Solid colour sections can be a problem in digital image printing, so you should think about this issue when designing your material. In simple terms, solid tends to print somewhat unevenly when digital devices are used. This problem can be explained by understanding the difference between the offset and digital printing methods. Offset printing uses ink to create images. When the ink is applied on paper, the liquid sinks into the fibres, creating an ideal dark section.
On the other hand, digital printing uses dry toner which is applied on the external surface using heat and fuser oil. So, large surfaces cannot achieve optimal uniformity. If you would like to achieve better results, consider breaking solid colour sections with text or illustrations. Alternatives, all a texture filter to modify the nature of the solid colour.
Promote Digital Text Legibility
When planning for digital printing, you should ensure that your text will be legible, especially against dramatic images. Avoid using small fonts because these can be easily overlooked. Also, choose a high contrast colour which will stand out in comparison to the rest of the digital file. Additionally, use uncomplicated fonts instead of sophisticated calligraphy.
