Designing and Printing a Travel Brochure: 3 Things to Consider

Posted on: 19 June 2019

If you are planning the design of a new travel brochure, you will want to ensure that the finished product appeals to your customers while also transmitting important information about the holidays and trips you can offer your customers. Below are some top tips which will help you to design the perfect travel brochure. Read on to find out everything you need to know.

1. Consider the font

When choosing the font for your holiday brochure, it may be best to avoid standard fonts which are often used in the workplace. The last thing you want to do is to remind your customers of their workplace. Instead, it pays to mix it up a little. For example, rather than using Times New Roman, you may want to opt for a font which is slightly softer such as Helvetica or Charter. However, you need to be careful not to choose a font which is too wacky. No one is going to take your company seriously if you use Comic Sans.

2. Consider the text/image ratio

One of the most important factors when designing a new brochure is the ratio between text and image. There is no predefined perfect text to image ratio so you will have to do some careful thinking when designing your brochure. For example, if the products and services you provide require lengthy explanations and descriptions or are technical in nature, you may wish to include a greater amount of text and fewer images. However, travel brochures rely on creating a strong initial impression rather than lengthy explanations. A photo of a stunning sunset over a beach will speak to your customers more than a 1000-word description of a Caribbean Island. Therefore, you may wish to cut the amount of text so you can place your images front and centre. Doing so will create a strong emotional reaction in your customers, which will hopefully encourage them to book a holiday.

3. Consider the finish

When it comes to the finish, you will have two options. You can go with a matte or gloss finish. While a glossy finish to your travel brochure can help to make photographs of exotic places even more vibrant, you should be aware that it is typically more expensive when compared to a matte finish.

Printing Services: What You Need to Know

Hey! My name is Brad and this is my printing services blog. I would like to write this blog so I can explain the many benefits of using a printing service. I first discovered I might need a printing service when I decided to set up my own surf training school. I realised that I was going to need a range of fliers and posters in order to promote the services I offered. Unfortunately, I didn't have a clue what I was doing. I was lucky enough to find a great printing service which helped me to design and print posters and fliers which were the perfect size and shape for me.
